14        Appointment Of Co-opted Members

            [John Blunt Tel: 457012]

At the last Housing and Health Scrutiny committee the following Co-opted members and Tenant Representatives were re-appointed for the time being, with a view to a review and recommendations being made to this meeting of the Scrutiny Committee:

Hugh Gault (Social Services)

Mike Jones (Cambridge Multi Agency Accommodation Forum)

Wendy Forster (English Churches Housing)

Brian Haywood, Kay Harris and Terry Sweeney (Tenant Representatives)

Bearing in mind the request from the CHC for a further co-option, and the fact that the existing co-options, which have been in place for some time, might be more effective at other forums, the following recommendations are made:

1          the tenant representatives and the Social Services representative be re-         appointed.

2          since the council’s voluntary sector partner agencies have their own regular weekly forums with the department’s staff, their continued co-option on to the scrutiny committee would be a duplication of their representation. Therefore, the  co-optees from the Cambridge Homeless Partnership or the RSLs (currently represented by Mike Jones and Wendy Forster, respectively) not be re-appointed.

3          the Safer City Partnership and the Primary Care Trust be invited to nominate             a representative as co-optees

15        Compulsory Purchase Orders (CPO) Policy Related to Housing Matters

            [Tim McCormack Tel: 457951]

16        Exclusion Of The Public

Before considering the next item on this agenda, the Scrutiny Committee is recommended to exclude members of the public from the meeting on the grounds that, if they were present, there would be disclosure to them of information defined as exempt from publication by paragraph 7 of Part 1 of Schedule 12A of the Local Government Act 1972 and set out in Appendix 1 of Part 4B of the Council’s Constitution.

17        The Use of Compulsory Purchase Order Powers to Bring Three Dwellings     Back to Habitable Use

[Tim McCormack Tel: 457951]
