9.      CONSULTATION ON PAY AND CONDITIONS NEGOTIATIONS 2002

 

Local authorities are currently being consulted about the 2002 local government pay round.  Copies of the following documents are attached to the agenda :

 

Trade union side pay claim, dated December 2001

Initial employer commentary on trade unions’ claim for 2002, dated 19 December 2001

Employers’ Consultation Document for 2002 Local Government Services Pay Round, dated 12 December 2001

Consultation questions, with City Council draft responses indicated.

 

The trade unions have an opportunity to comment on the proposed response at the meeting of the Forum.  Their comments will be reported to the Chair of City Board, who under delegated authority will finalise the submission to the Employers Organisation by their deadline of the end of January.
