The Cambridge & Peterborough Structure Plan (2003) identifies a number of locations in and around Cambridge suitable for development up to 2016. These areas of growth are needed to support the local economy and have been identified as the most sustainable locations for development.
These growth areas are described as follows;
- The Southern Fringe
- North West Cambridge Quadrant:
- Land between Madingley Road & Huntingdon Road (The North West Cambridge Area Action Plan)
- Land between Huntingdon Road and Histon Road (the NIAB site)
- Cambridge East
Cambridgeshire Horizons work as a partnership organisation to help deliver this growth to Cambridge and the surrounding areas.
