The telecoms section covers the installation of telecoms equipment by licensed mobile phone operators and others. It includes general information about mobile phone networks, Government guidelines, Council policy, where masts are located and health concerns.
The Planning Department is responsible for determining all applications relating to such development and has a role to play in promoting public consultation and addressing the public's concerns. It also liaises closely with the mobile phone operators in an attempt to ensure that installations are sited in the most suitable locations.
