Tree preservation

An introduction to the Arboricultural service

The main responsibilities of the arboricultural service are:
  • to manage the trees owned by the City Council (we do not manage trees within schools or social service areas),
  • advise Planning Officers on development control issues, and
  • to manage all the processes of the tree protection system, tree preservation orders and applications to works on trees in Conservation areas.
