Building control archive search charges
All of the following charges are inclusive of VAT.
Domestic properties
£28.50 per property address
Commercial properties
Minimum charge £100 per property address
Copies of notices
£10 for each copy of completion certificate or approval notice.
£1 for each subsequent document.
Making a request
Please note that any request for an archive search must be made in writing and can only be requested by the property owner or professional third party acting on the behalf of the owner.
We do not provide copies of documents for residential properties over 15 years old but we can search our registers to see what applications were received, date application made and description of works.
Please note that the archive search fee covers administrative costs for time spent researching records and retrieving archived files.
This fee is payable once an archive search has been undertaken, whether or not documents are found to be available.
Archive searches will be carried out within seven working days.
