Children's activities

Children and Young People's Participation Service

Chypps

The Children and Young People's Participation Service (Chypps) works with children and young people of all ages across the city.

We are dedicated to ensuring that all children and young people in Cambridge can access play and youth provision – after school, sometimes at weekends and always in the holidays.

We organise activities in local neighbourhoods in response to need.

This page lists some of the projects and pieces of work that are happening across the city. For further information on any of the groups please contact Chypps on 01223 457873 or chypps@cambridge.gov.uk.

The House project

The house project is a young people let project established to help find a city centre venue for young people in Cambridge. In the short term the project has been looking at existing cafes in Cambridge to try and make them more friendly for young people.

The group has carried out research into what makes a good cafe for young people and has been approaching local cafes to try and establish discounts for young people. We have also been trying to encourage cafes to have a evening or a few hours set aside specifically for young people.

If you would like to get involved in the project, or would like out find out more information, please contact Caroline Gill on 01223 508145 or caroline.gill@cambridge.gov.uk.
