The Grand Arcade fireworks will be held on Monday 5 November 2007, on Midsummer Common.
The fireworks display will start at 7.30pm and will be followed by a bonfire. Please arrive early and leave plenty of time for your journey.
The Thurston Family funfair will also be open from 6-10pm.
Entry to the display is free. Donations of at least £1 per person are encouraged.
The Grand Arcade Fireworks 2007 is organised by Cambridge City Council Arts & Entertainments and sponsored by Grand Arcade, in association with Q103.
Viewing the fireworks
Please view the fireworks from Midsummer Common or Jesus Green only.
Viewing will not be possible from Elizabeth Way Bridge. Police will be closing the Midsummer Common side to pedestrians for the duration of the display.
Viewing is discouraged in front of the boathouses north of the River Cam, which is behind the fallout zone for the display.
Organisers have written to all boat clubs and shall be erecting signs advising people of the possible danger of standing down by the river behind the fallout zone during the display.
Whilst this area is in excess of required fallout distance and organisers have worked hard to minimise the risk of debris blown by freak gusts of wind and possible injuries, this risk does still exist.
River closure
In the interests of safety, river traffic will be suspended in the area immediately behind the firework fallout area between 7pm and 8pm in accordance with relevant byelaws.
Marshalls shall be on duty to report any breaches with a view to prosecution.
Getting to the fireworks
Wherever possible, you are encouraged to walk, cycle or use public transport to get to the event.
