What we can deal with
The Food and Occupational Safety team investigate all outbreaks of certain infectious diseases and food poisoning refererred to us by the Local Health Authority, Hospitals and General Practicioners and can take enforcement action where appropriate. We can also provide advice on controlling the spread of disease and advise on the payment of compensation arising from the exclusion of people from work.
What we cannot deal with
- Specific medical advice for individual cases or comment on any prescribed medication.
- We do not undertake medical examinations.
- We do not apportion blame or take civil action.
- In all these cases you are advised to contact your GP or
solicitor.
