About the work of the Council supporting lesbian and gay, bisexual and transgender staff. The Council runs an LGBT history month during February.

LGBT History Month logo Cambridge City Council has been included in the Stonewall Top 100 LGBT friendly employers and for 2008 was ranked the top district council in the UK and 16th out of the 100 top gay-friendly employers.

As part of its support, we host a celebratory event to mark Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) History Month.

On 19th February, Mayor Jenny Bailey will host a Civic Launch event in the Small Hall in The Guildhall which will also include a speaker from Stonewall, a discussion with Rev Dr Fraser Watts and a talk by Reverand Sharon Ferguson, Assistant Chief Executive from the Lesbian and Gay Christian Movement. There will also be a presentation by Rob Hammond, Chief Executive of the City Council. A wide range of information will be on display about local LGBT groups, activities and organisations. The organisations represented included DHIVerse, SexYOUality, and Stonewall.

There are a number of events taking place in Cambridge throughout February to mark LGBT History Month. A full listing can be found at lgbt-events.
