A Sustainable Community Strategy for Cambridge
The Cambridge Local Strategic Partnership (LSP) wants to improve the quality of life for people living in, working in and visiting the City and has set out a vision for doing this in its recently launched Sustainable Community Strategy 2008 to 2011. This vision for the City also forms a part of a shared vision for Cambridgeshire.
This strategy shows how over the next few years the LSP will respond to the very real challenges of tackling climate change, ensuring the growth of the City occurs in a sustainable way and enabling local people to share in the City's success - to make the City a better place.
This strategy should be read alongside the City's Development Strategy , which is its spatial expression.
A Statement of Evidence has also been prepared showing in more detail the demographic and economic data that helped inform the preparation of the Sustainable Community Strategy.
At present an Action Plan is being prepared to show how the new strategy will be delivered. This will incorporate the appropriate actions contained in Cambridgeshire Togethers' new Local Area Agreement for Cambridgeshire, which is scheduled to be in place in the early summer, and will be posted at the same time. The annual reports, covering the period of the LSP's first Community Strategy are shown below.
