Shopmobility gives everyone with a mobility problem, whether through age, accident or disability, permanent or temporary, access to shopping and other services in the city centre.
There are two Shopmobility centres in Cambridge, one at the new Grand Arcade car park (formerly Lion Yard), and one at the Grafton.
The offices are open Monday to Saturday, 10am to 4pm. You do not need to be a blue badge holder to use this scheme.
Both Shopmobility provide have a free service including:
- manual and electric wheelchairs
- portable hearing loops
- scooters
- rollators (walking aids with seats)
If you are visually impaired or a require the use of a wheelchair, a staff member can escort you for up to two hours. Please be sure to book this service in advance.
Before equipment can be used we require proof of your name and address, and a small form must be completed for insurance purposes. Staff will be available to show you how to use the equipment if you need them to.
There is also a Shopmobility office at Drummer Street bus station, which offers a bookable service for people arriving by bus, taxi or Dial-a-Ride.
