Information on Blue Badge parking spaces in Cambridge

Blue Badge

Please contact Cambridgeshire County Council on 0845 045 5212 or visit their web site to find out if you are eligible for a Blue Badge Parking Permit.

If you know you are eligible you can apply for a Blue Badge Parking Permit online.

Car Park Spaces

Parking for Blue Badge holders is free for the first three hours at the following multi-storey city centre car parks:

A map of Blue Badge parking spaces in Cambridge and elsewhere across the UK is available on the DirectGov website.

Payment at these car parks is normally made at machines before returning to your car.

To claim the concession do not pay at a machine - take your Blue Badge to the car park kiosk so that the cashier on duty can process your ticket and take the reduced payment if one is due.

The concession for disabled users relies on a cashier being on site and is also only available on the day of parking. We do not refund retrospectively so please ensure you return to the car park in good time if you wish to make use of this facility.

The concession is available between 8.00am and 8.00pm (10.00am to 5.00pm on Sundays) and the ticket must be presented to the cashier before 8.00pm (5.00pm on Sundays).

Please note we currently only accept cash or cheque in payment at Queen Anne Terrace, Grafton Centre East and Grafton Centre West.

There are three free Pay & Display spaces in the Adam & Eve Street pay and display car park. (Max stay 2hrs)

  • City Road - 2 spaces
  • Guildhall Street/Wheeler Street - 2 spaces - There is also an experimental Blue Badge drop off point installed as part of the redistribution of city centre disabled parking under the Core 4 traffic management plan (maximum stay 10 minutes to allow disabled passengers to be dropped off or collected)

There are also an additional three spaces available between 10.00am and 4.00pm in the shared use bay next to the disabled bays outside Hobson House (outside these hours the shared use bay cannot be used by Blue Badge holders). Please note - the 6 space bay in the Pedestrian Zone area of St Andrew's Street has been removed and is currently a temporary taxi rank.
  • Fair Street - 2 spaces
  • King's Parade - 3 spaces (additional spaces will be provided in the near future as part of the redistribution of city centre disabled parking under the Core 4 traffic management plan)
  • Peas Hill - 4 spaces
  • Round Church Street - 3 spaces
  • Trumpington Street - 2 spaces outside the Hotel du Vin
Due to the constantly evolving requirements of traffic management in Cambridge, a bay may be changed in terms of use or the times it is available. This makes it very important that you check all signs by the bay before leaving your vehicle as Penalty Charge Notices will be issued to vehicles parked in areas where they are not allowed, even when a Blue Badge is being displayed.

If you find a Blue Badge space occupied by a vehicle without a Blue Badge, please report it as soon as possible to Parking Services on 01223 458500 and we will send a Parking Attendant as quickly as possible.

If you have received a Penalty Charge Noice (parking ticket) you can view the photographs and details at www.cambridge.gov.uk/parking and either pay or query the ticket online or you can contact Parking Services on 01223 458500, or you can email LAPE@cambridge.gov.uk.

Parking Bays

If you have a Blue Badge and have difficulty parking at home, it may be possible to put a disabled person's parking bay on the road near your house.

Please note that it may be necessary to contact your doctor to check that your disability qualifies you for a parking bay.
