More about bus passes

You can use your new national bus pass to enjoy free off peak travel on any local bus service in England, including London.

Off peak means after 9.30am between Mondays to Fridays and all day at weekends and on bank holidays.

If you have a bus pass because you are registered blind or partially sighted, you can use this at any time in Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

It does not cover long distance coach services, such as National Express, but it does cover services such as the X5 to Bedford and Oxford.

If your circumstances change such as a change of name or address you must tell us.

Lost, old and replacement bus passes

If you think you may have lost your pass on a bus, first contact the relevant bus company where you may have left the pass.

If it cannot be found, please notify the council. Contact us online or call 01223 457187 so that the pass can be cancelled and a replacement ordered.

You won't be charged for a replacement.

Please note that expired, old style passes are not accepted.

If a bus pass is no longer needed (perhaps due to bereavement, you move out of the city or you are no longer eligible for the scheme) the bus pass must be returned to us. There is a freepost address on the back of the pass.

Dial-a-Ride

Bus pass holders get a discounted fare on Cambridge Dial-a-Ride services. This is a service for people whose health and mobility problems make it impossible for them to use public transport.

You need to be a member to use Dial-a-Ride and there is a £10 joining fee.

Email dial-a-ride or call 01223 506335 for more information.
