Local Plan 2006
Following the Local Plan Inquiry and the receipt of the binding Inspector's Report, the City Council has amended the Local Plan in accordance with the Inspector's recommendations. The 2006 Local Plan was formally adopted at a meeting of Full Council on the 20th July 2006 and has now come into operation. A legal challenge to the adoption of the Local Plan was made by Ashwell (Barton Road) Limited. The City Council received the High Courts judgement on the 20th July 2007, which was in favour of the City Council and the adoption of the Local Plan. Ashwell have been granted leave to appeal this decision by the Court of Appeal and a hearing at the High Court is expected to take place in June 2008. Further details of the outcome of this appeal will be made available on this page in due course.
