The Sustainable Design and Construction Supplementary Planning Document (SPD) provides guidance on the policies in the 2006 Cambridge Local Plan.
It covers issues including:
- onsite renewable energy
- pollution prevention
- climate change adaptation
- biodiversity
- sustainable drainage
- water conservation
- provision of waste and recycling facilities
- sustainable transport
The document provides guidance to applicants of major planning applications (10 units or more, or 1,000m2 of non-residential development) on how to meet our requirements and demonstate they have done so through the provision of a sustainability checklist and sustainability statement.
