The underlying principle of the plans is to use space to allow the planting of larger species of tree. This will contribute to the landscape, increase canopy cover, recover the loss of recent mature park trees and maintain appropriate tree-stock levels throughout the city.
All species of tree have been considered and selected for each location in accordance with soil type, soil conditions, immediate environment conditions, amenity and crown spread.
