Application forms
Full plans application form
This requires the submission of full construction drawings, details and specification of the intended scheme prior to works commencing on site. The submitted plans will be checked for compliance with the building regulations and we will advise you of any amendments or changes that are required. Upon receipt of suitably amended plans we will issue an approval notice.
Our building control surveyors will inspect work at various stages during construction.
The plan fee is payable with your application.

Building notice application form
Best suited for small uncomplicated works only. Works may commence 48 hours after notice has been deposited. If you submit a building notice you will need to be confident that the work will comply with the building regulations as no approval is given for your plans under the building notice procedure.
Building control surveyors will inspect the site at relevant stages to ensure work conforms to the building regulations.
A building notice cannot be used if the building work is being carried out on a building to which the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 applies, or will apply after the completion of the work.
Similarly, a building notice cannot be used if you are intending to build over or within three metres of a public sewer.
The building notice charge which is non-refundable should accompany this type of application.

Building notice (replacement glazing and doors) application form

This notice should only be used where glazing is being replaced as a single contract and not where the installation is part of an extension or new dwelling.
The building notice charge which is non-refundable should accompany this type of application.
Regularisation certificate application form
In the case of unauthorised work commenced from 11 November 1985 you may apply for a regularisation certificate.
A fee, which is not refundable, must be paid when the application is made.
It is important to note that the request for a regularisation certificate is entirely discretionary and we are under no obligation to accept it.
The regularisation charge is 130% of the combined plan charge and inspection charge.
