Allotments

How to get an allotment, and why it's a good idea

Lettuce We provide more than 100 acres of land for more than 1700 allotment plots in the city. The day-to-day management of these is mostly carried out by local allotment societies:
  • Cherry Hinton Allotment Society
  • Chesterton Allotment Society
  • Old Chesterton Allotment Society
  • Rock Allotment Society
  • Romsey Town and District Gardening Society
  • Trumpington Allotment Society
  • Vinery Permanent Allotment Society
  • Whitehall Allotment Society

The standard allotment size is 10 rods, or 300 square yards. Half or reduced size plots are also available if required.

Visiting and working on the plot provides valuable forms of exercise to help keep you fit.

Also, your work will soon provide you with fresh fruits and vegetables to give your diet a great source of fibre and vitamins.
