OVER 50s are invited to get fit at a health and wellbeing day.
And grandchildren are invited to come along as well to the event at Chesterton Sports Centre, Gilbert Road, Cambridge, on Thursday May 29 from 10-1pm.
The day will be action packed with taster exercise sessions, including t’ai chi, chair based exercises, exercises to music, holistic conditioning, badminton, martial arts and self defence, yoga and healthy walks.
And the children will be kept entertained with activities including trampolining, football and hockey.
The day has been organised as part of the Forever Active scheme, which provides sport and exercise opportunities for the 50 plus age group.
Entry is £5.00 for the whole morning of activity, and free for grandchildren, and all funds will go towards supporting the sport and exercise sessions run by the scheme.
Refreshments and lunch can be purchased for those who need to replenish their energy stores at the Box Café upstairs at the centre.
Helen Johnston, Forever Active coordinator, said: "Its is hoped that the event will increase awareness of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and encourage attendees to come along regularly to the Forever Active sport and exercise sessions which are on offer in the city."
