There are 88 parks and playgrounds in Cambridge which we manage as well as many other gardens and other open spaces.
Larger spaces include formal parks such as Parker's Piece and Jesus Green, as well as informal spaces such as Midsummer Common and Coldham's Common.
There are over 60 children's play areas in the city. The larger play areas are located at Cherry Hinton Hall, Jesus Green and Lammas Land.
There are also many smaller recreation grounds and playgrounds across the city, as well as eight local nature reserves.
Improve your neighbourhood
Do you have an idea or project that would improve your neighbourhood?
You may want improvements made to your local recreation area, to see more play equipment at your local park, or to have somewhere to enjoy a particular sport.
New projects are considered every year, so get in touch and tell us your ideas.
Activities
Residents and visitors alike are encouraged to enjoy Cambridge's open spaces.
We aim to ensure that our parks and playgrounds provide opportunities to play, relax and reflect in safety and comfort.
Equipment for a range of sports is provided at many parks (see our sports facilities map for more information), and space is devoted to nature and wildlife.
We also encourage the staging of community events and are happy to hire space out for this purpose.
