The Safer Parking scheme promotes safe and secure parking facilities with the intention of reducing the fear of crime in car parks.
The scheme is managed by the British Parking Association in conjunction with the Association of Chief Police Officers.
Park Mark
Car parks that have achieved high standards of security can be awarded Park Mark status.
To do so, owners and operators must meet a stringent set of standards including good design and management, and provide an effective level of security patrols, good lighting and help points.
Over 1,120 UK car parks currently hold Park Mark status and operators as well as users have seen the benefits of increased security within car parks.
The Park Street, Grafton East, Queen Anne and Castle Hill car parks have achieved Park Mark status.
