Various grant schemes are available to increase the energy efficiency of your home.

The Eastern Carbon Reduction Initiative

Local authorities in the eastern region have come together in a partnership called the Eastern Carbon Reduction Initiative (Eastern CRI) to provide a region-wide single cost insulation package.

The Eastern CRI has been developed to give homeowners and tenants alike affordable loft and cavity wall insulation installed by approved contractors using the grant aid that is abound in the energy market place. It has developed a product that may be free if you qualify as a priority group customer, or for as little as £149 in other cases.

The Eastern CRI guarantees a set price across the eastern region. To get a free, no obligation quotation, householders should call 0800 232 1677 or visit the Eastern CRI website.

Before you call or go online you will need to know your loft area in square meters.

Warm Front

Warm Front is a government-funded initiative created to make homes warmer, healthier and more energy-efficient.

The scheme provides a package of insulation and heating improvements up to the value of £3,500 (or £6,000 where oil, low-carbon or renewable technologies are recommended).

To qualify you must either own your own home or rent it from a private landlord, and be in receipt of certain benefits.

For more information please telephone 0800 316 2814 or visit the Warm Front website.

If you are not in receipt of one of the qualifying benefits, Warm Front can offer you a full benefit assessment to establish if you should be receiving any benefits that would qualify you for the Warm Front Grant.
