Home-Link is a choice-based lettings (CBL) scheme offering more choice to housing register applicants in Cambridge city and the six neighbouring authorities.
Home-Link offers greater transparency, flexibility and feedback for applicants, allowing them to see the availability of social housing across all seven local authority areas and therefore make realistic decisions about their housing options.
The Home-Link scheme advertises virtually all of the available council and housing association properties.
You can register with the Home-Link scheme by visiting the Home-Link website or by filling in and returning the Home-Link application form.
If you have any questions about the service, please contact our CBL team at cbl@cambridge.gov.uk or on 01223 457917.
Homeseekers on the housing register can use Home-Link to see what properties are available, as can existing council and housing association tenants who wish to transfer to a different property.
Accommodation is allocated in accordance with the council's lettings policy. You may also like to read the letting policy summary document.
Applicants on the housing register have their housing needs assessed by the council and are allocated a housing needs 'band' based on their housing circumstances.
The highest band, for those with urgent needs, is Band A; the lowest band is Band D, for applicants who are assessed as already adequately housed. Most offers of accommodation will go to applicants in the higher bands.
Home-Link is primarily a web-based system that allows applicants to apply for housing and bid for properties online, although this can also be done by telephone or text, in person or by post.
A fortnightly magazine advertising all available property is produced and distributed across the sub-region.
We wish to implement a number of Service Standards for the Home-Link serviceĀ and would welcome your views on them. Please take a couple of minutes to fill out our Customer Service Standards Questionnaire
