Schools and college recycling

We are working with the schools and universities of Cambridge to improve recycling and waste awareness.

We can offer free recycling collections of paper, glass and cans to schools and colleges in the city.

Colleges

We collect materials for recycling from nearly all Cambridge University colleges, and from Anglia Ruskin University. Internal collection arrangements are usually organised by students with help from porters, bursars and housekeeping staff.

If you would like to see recycling at your college improved, please contact your green officer or a member of facilities staff, who can arrange a service with the council.

Schools

We collect materials for recycling from all kinds of schools from nurseries to secondary schools, and can help you work towards Eco-Schools awards. We can also give advice on compost bins for schools and how to start composting.

If you are a teacher or caretaker and would like to set up recycling collections at your school, please contact our customer services team.
