Clinical waste

We provide domestic collections of clinical waste

Sign saying clinical waste

People who have a medical need to dispose of home dialysis waste, contaminated dressings or significant quantities of incontinence pads each week, may qualify for a collection of clinical waste.

People must be referred to the service by their GP or district nurse.

Those with small amounts of single incontinence pads will not need a special collection, as the pads can be bagged and placed in the domestic black bin for collection.

If you wish to be considered for a clinical waste collection, either for yourself or for a family member, you should consult your GP surgery.

Medical referrals for the service are accepted only on the referral form.

Collections of clinical waste are made weekly using a special yellow sack system.
