Black bins
A new black bin can be obtained by contacting our customer services team. These cost £50 for a large bin (240 litres) and £25 for a smaller bin (140 litres). This price includes delivery to your home. For health and safety reasons black bins can only be delivered and not collected from the council.
If your black bin is missing we would firstly advise you to make sure that it hasn't been left outside another property by mistake. If you are still unable to find the bin, then the above charges will apply for a replacement.
We may be able to help you mend your bin if it has broken wheels or a broken or missing lid.
You can swap a large black bin for a smaller one free of charge. If you would like to swap a small black bin for a large one there is a charge of £50. In both cases we will deliver the bin to your house.
If you feel that you need more than one bin this may be possible in certain circumstances. Please contact our customer services team to discuss this.
New or replacement black bins are usually delivered in two to three working days from receipt of payment.
Black boxes
You can get a new or replacement black box by contacting the customer services team.
If you need an extra black box please contact the customer services team. However, please remember that you can also take extra recycling to one of the many recycling points around the city. See our recycling points map to find your nearest one and what you can take there.
Green bins and brown sacks
For a new or replacement green bin please contact the customer services team and they will arrange for one to be delivered. Please note that this may take up to six weeks.
It is not possible to have more than one green bin. If you have more compostable waste than you can fit into your green bin or six brown sacks, you may take it to one of the large recycling centres at Milton or Thriplow. Alternatively you can home compost much of the waste.
If you have brown sack collections, up to six sacks will be collected at one time. Please clearly write your house number on the sacks so that the collection crew can supply you with replacement sacks.
