Environmental Services is nominally responsible for animal welfare through licensing and legislation. We are also responsible for enforcing legislation relating to wild animals kept by private individuals; visiting premises where these animals are kept, and licensing animal related establishments such as pet shops, riding schools and zoo’s.

We also provide a Dog Warden Service, where complaints regarding stray dogs, and dog fouling are investigated.

There are a number of animal welfare agencies operating in the Cambridge area some of which are listed below

In cases of suspected animal cruelty not associated with an animal business then you should contact the RSPCA on 08705 555 999
