Cambridge Slivers

A new initiative for a new way of working

Slivers

Do you...

  • ever need staff to fill a gap at the last minute? wish you could employ flexible skills at different stages of a project?
  • want to save money on staffing overheads?
  • have seasonal or unpredictable staffing requirements?

Slivers-of-Time provides the solution to these problems at the click of a mouse.

What is Slivers-of-Time?

Slivers-of-Time is a new initiative, backed by Cambridge City Council, which uses innovative new technology to provide an online employment marketplace. Slivers-of-Time enables organisations to hire staff for specific shifts, or at short notice, using a pool of ‘top-up’ workers, recruited and vetted by Anglia Ruskin University’s campus-based recruitment agency, the Employment Bureau.

Slivers-of-Time is a flexible system which gives organisations the opportunity to respond quickly and efficiently to real operational needs – you can book workers for an hour or less, at just one hour’s notice. This flexibility allows for cost effective recruitment and enhanced management control.

The system also offers complete transparency, enabling you to assess the skills, experience and reliability of each worker before hiring them, as well as giving you a precise costing for each shift. Booking a worker is quick and simple. We handle payroll, national insurance and holiday pay and provide you with a consolidated invoice each month.
