Three different elections took place in Cambridge on Thursday 4 June 2009.

Cambridge City Council by-election

Following the resignation of Councillor Marian Holness, a vacancy was created on the city council for East Chesterton ward.

Cambridgeshire County Council elections

Residents of Cambridge elect 14 councillors to represent them, one for each city ward. Elections take place every four years.

European parliament elections

Cambridge is part of the Eastern Region and votes for seven MEPs to represent it at the European parliament in Brussels. Elections take place every five years.
