Members of the public are permitted to attend the vast majority of meetings held by the council. There is a section at the beginning of these meetings where members of the public may ask a question or make a statement.
To ensure proper functioning of meetings, there are arrangements for speaking by the public to be followed, including registering to speak beforehand.
On occasion it might be necessary to ask the public to leave the room during the discussion of certain matters, these will be described as confidential on the agenda.
