2008 is the centenary year of Cam-mind, the Cambridge mental health charity and to mark it the charity is holding the On-Footse 100 event on Sunday 22 June.
The On-Footse 100 event is designed to raise awareness of mental health issues in the workplace, as well as funds towards Cam-mind's £100K centenary appeal. Cambridge City Council is pleased to publicise this event in recognition of the charity's century of service to local residents.
Businesses across the region are invited to put up one runner each, to run one competitive mile at the Cambridge University athletics track on Sunday, 22 June, to compete for a top place in the On-Footse list.
But there are only 100 places - and the first 10 companies have already signed up.
"The event will see a total of 100 runners timed over the one mile distance in a number of heats during the course of the day – with the fastest few racing for the top places in the event's grand final," explains Aly Anderson from Cam-mind.
"It is a race, and will undoubtedly result in good natured rivalry among competing local businesses, but it is also designed to be a fun, family event - so you don't have to be a budding Roger Bannister to take part."
The entry fee for the race is just £100. To find out more check out www.footse100.org for details and registration form.
