The community room has been open for about 10 years as a community facility. It provides a local meeting space for small groups up to 20 people.
As well as a downstairs meeting room, there is a small garden which can be used in the summer months. Akeman Street also accommodates a number of community development workers who are based in the area.

There is a meeting room for up to 20 people, with kitchen facilities.
Kitchen Facilities
There is a cooker, microwave and fridge with tea and coffee making facilities.
Regular Activities
There is a regular programme of activities at the centre including Cambridge City Credit Union, youth groups, Bengali Health project and bingo. The Arbury Neighbourhood Community Project is also based at the centre, which produces a quarterly newsletter and organises various events in and around the centre.
