Recent experiences elsewhere in the United Kingdom have highlighted the potential requirement to evacuate our City Centres.

Evacuation of the whole or part of the City Centre may become necessary as a result of acts of terrorism, major fires or building collapses.

To this end the Cambridge City Centre Evacuation Plan sets out procedures to deal with evacuations that may arise as a result of incidents, including terrorist attack, severe weather, flooding, chemical incidents and major fires.

The City Centre is zoned to ensure that only those zones affected by an incident are evacuated.
