The mission of the Cambridge Community Safety Partnership is to:
- reduce levels of crime and antisocial behaviour
- increase people's sense of community safety
- effectively tackle alcohol and drug misuse across Cambridge
The values and strategic drivers of the partnership are detailed in the Community Safety Plan, which is refreshed annually.
We want your views
The Cambridge Community Safety Partnership would like your views on your local area; how safe you feel in it, the areas of crime that most affect you and anti-social behaviour in general.
The partnership will use this information to draw up a new community safety plan for the next three years.
Please complete the survey by Thursday 30 September. If you would prefer to complete a hard copy of the survey please call us on 01223 457042.

Strategic Assessment
The 2009 Strategic Assessment was written to provide an accurate overview of the current issues facing Cambridge in respect of crime, disorder, antisocial behaviour, substance misuse and behaviour adversely effecting the environment.
The assessment is based on research and analysis of a wide range of information sources. Information has not been restricted to any one agency with material from a range of sources being incorporated into the overview.
The purpose of this assessment is to help drive the business of the partnership and make recommendations for the prioritisation of problems identified within it. The approach is to scan topics and provide an overview of those areas of particular concern, rather than cover every crime type and topic in considerable detail.
Recommendations are also made as to further information requirements. This assessment enabled the partnership to discuss and agree new priorities in light of research analysis.
You can download the 2008 Strategic Assessment.
Community Safety Plan
The Community Safety Plan has been refreshed for 2010 following the completion of the strategic assessment which details the main issues relating to crime and disorder in Cambridge. The plan is revisited every year to ensure the priorities detailed are appropriate for Cambridge.
The priorities in the refreshed plan are:
- alcohol-related violent crime and antisocial behaviour
- burglary of homes
- cycle theft
- domestic violence
- personal robbery
- reducing offending and re-offending
For each of these priorities a lead officer has been appointed and they have identified objectives, targets and actions for each priority.
In addition to the priorities detailed in the plan there are also three themes. These apply to each of the priorities identified and will be considered as part of the work to tackle each priority.
The themes are:
- community cohesion and engagement
- families
- substance misuse
You can download the original 2008 version of the Community Safety Plan.
