Cambridge City Council welcomes film and television companies who wish to film in and around the city. We will provide help and assistance wherever possible.
You do not need a licence to film in Cambridge.
We do require you to contact our City Centre Management team as early in the production process as possible. This is so we can flag any potential issues with the filming day you have chosen.
Filming considerations
We will help you with your project but the following issues are solely for you to take responsibility for:
- obtaining permissions from the owners of the buildings you are going to be filming
- obtaining permissions to film people before you start
- city centre parking - contact the Local Area Parking Authority (LAPE) if you need to bring a car or van
- contacting relevant authorities such as the police prior to filming, where appropriate.
