Your bill may be reduced if anyone living in the property, including a child, is disabled; and the property is larger to accommodate the resident’s disability.
To qualify the property must have:
- an additional bathroom or kitchen, or other room to meet the specific needs of the disabled person and/or
- extra space in the property for the use of a wheelchair indoors
If you qualify for disability relief your Council Tax bill will be reduced by one valuation band. If your property is already in the lowest band A, then your bill will be reduced by an equivalent amount (1/9 of the Band D charge).
Further qualifying information may be needed from your doctor; and we may need to visit your property.
